Deputy Treasurer
A Social Worker with over 15 years of practice as of 2023, I am an experienced project manager with a demonstrated history of working in the multi-media industry. I am co-founder of a summer camp that focuses on gardening, outdoor activities and cultural arts for youths in the Washington, DC area. I am owner/operator of “BZ Vegan Pastries” a food business and “Habesha Hoodies” a clothing business.
I am a big fan and lover of Reggae music and am very passionate about promoting and preserving the culture of this wonderful music that has played a very significant role in my life for well over three decades now. It all started for me back in 1997 when I first arrived in the U.S. from Ethiopia as a lonely, home-sick, high-school student and soon found refuge and solace in this captivating music. I fell in love with it instantly and have stayed in love with it ever since.
I was very happy to learn of the establishment of the Reggae One Love Movement and I fully embrace the idea and its humanitarian aims and objectives. I consider it a great honor to be invited to serve as our founding deputy treasurer, as we embark on the mission of making positive things happen. I gladly join this movement to help spread the word about this incredible music and its cultural roots in the spirit of “One Love”.
