Orville Gayle (Ras Iley) is the owner/operator of Empire Sedan & Limo Service, operating in the Washington DC/Maryland/No. Virginia area since 2007. He was Born and raised in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica and has had a lifelong passion for Reggae music and the positive vibration.
Ras Iley’s professional involvement with reggae spans almost 4 decades, beginning in the early 1990s with Star Trail Records. In 2004, he participated as one of the organizers of the golden jubilee celebration in Washington, DC, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the State visit of H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie 1 to the United States of America.
In 2010, he became a co-founder of Star of David Records. In 2012, he was the road manager for Benjy Myaz, while performing at the annual South-By-Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. In 2015, he was part of the stage management team with Benjy Myaz at the IPHAS International Film, Reggae & Arts Festival in Falmouth, Jamaica. He has been involved with producing various reggae shows and events over the years.
A firm believer in the preservation and promotion of roots reggae music and culture, Ras Iley is honored to serve as a founding board-member of the Reggae One Love Movement.
